What is the complete list of vitamins and minerals in Ancient Multi - Immune?
Vitamin A (Beta-Carotene)
A fat-soluble vitamin that comes from two sources: preformed retinoids and provitamin A carotenoids. These retinoids are found in animal sources such as eggs, liver and dairy products like whole milk, while provitamin A carotenoids come from colorful plant foods like fruits and vegetables. Beta-carotene typically leads the pack in most efficiently making retinol, a pre-formed, active form of vitamin A.
Probiotic-Fermented Vitamin C
Found mostly in fruits and vegetables, this essential vitamin is known for its powerful antioxidant properties and for its general benefits for supporting a healthy immune system.
Probiotic-Fermented Vitamin D3
Vitamin D plays a role in up to 2,000 genes and in every single tissue and cell of the body, yet 75 percent of American teens and adults don’t get enough. The immune-supporting vitamin D3 in this formulation is your body’s preferred form compared to vitamin D2.
Natural Vitamin E
A fat-soluble vitamin with many important processes in the body, this bioavailable, natural vitamin E also functions as an antioxidant.
Soy-Free Vitamin K (MK-7)
Vitamin K belongs to compounds called naphthoquinones and that includes vitamins K1, K2 and K3. Overall, vitamin K plays a strong role in bones and normal bone metabolism. Vitamin K2 also generally functions to ensure calcium gets to the right places in the body, such as the bones and teeth and not in the arteries or brain.
Generally speaking, vitamin K2 also functions to activate at least three proteins in osteoblasts, the cells that generate bone, while inhibiting the breaking down of bone. Vitamin K2 occurs in several forms, but two primary types are menaquinone-4 (MK-4) and menaquinone-7 (MK-7). MK-7 is a preferred form of vitamin K2, and the vitamin K2 in MK-7 form in Ancient Multi Immune Support Formula is soy-free.
Fermented and Coenzymated B vitamins
B vitamins serve as essential helpers in the conversion of food to energy. And while they do not directly provide that energy, they do assist the process. In fact, the vitamin B complex includes eight water-soluble vitamins: thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B-12, biotin and pantothenic acid.
This well-rounded vitamin B complex offers individual health benefits but work together in several ways. B vitamins are also water-soluble, so they need to be replenished often (if not every day) through diet and/or supplementation. The vitamin B-12 in Ancient Multi Immune Support is in the preferred methylcobalamin form, the form that’s typically the easiest for the body to use.
An organic source of calcium derived from organic, U.S.-produced eggshells, this form of calcium is body-friendly.
Traditionally a blood-building mineral, iron used in supplements sometimes tends to trigger digestive distress. Luckily, this formula utilizes iron that’s gentle on the digestive tract.
Our iodine is derived from an enzymatic process which bonds amino acids to minerals: chelation. Chelated minerals, such as our iodine, generally have easier absorption rates.
One of the most crucial minerals, magnesium is involved in more than 300 biochemical functions in the body, such as regulating heartbeat rhythms and helping neurotransmitter functions.
An essential mineral that’s second only to iron in its concentration in the body, zinc is often referred to as the “intelligence mineral.” Functionally, the liver also needs zinc in sufficient amounts so it can mobilize and release stored vitamin A into the bloodstream.
An essential mineral to support thyroid health†, selenium can also play a role in generally supporting a healthy immune system.
As an essential nutrient that’s usually tied to iron and other minerals, manganese plays a role in numerous chemical processes, including synthesis of nutrients like cholesterol, carbohydrates and proteins. Also importantly, manganese is involved in the formation of bone mass and helps balance hormones naturally that affect nearly every aspect of health.
A hard and brittle metal, chromium is a trace mineral needed by the body.
Is supplementation really necessary?
For many Americans the diet consumed isn’t nutritionally adequate. In fact, approximately two-thirds of the standard U.S. diet is made up of unhealthy fats and refined sugars with low or no nutrient density — providing calories but not the amounts of vitamins and minerals needed, including vitamins A, B Complex, C, D, E and the minerals calcium, magnesium and zinc.
More specifically, typical diets contain less than 80% of the RDA for calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, and manganese—and the people who are most at risk for coming up short on those nutrients are adult women and teenage girls.
Here’s the truth: If two-thirds of the standard U.S. diets are coming up short on certain nutrients, then the remaining one-third of the average diet may not be so great, either, and cannot possibly fully meet a person’s nutrient needs. One great way to get more vitamins and minerals into your diet is to include nutrient-dense, real foods. Unlike our Standard American Diet, nutrient-dense foods can deliver a vitamin-packed and mineral-packed wallop. In addition to a nutrient-dense diet, some opt to take a multivitamin to help cover their bases.
How is Ancient Multi - Immune different from the other Ancient Multivitamins in the line?
Formulated using the Traditional Chinese Method of super nutrition, Ancient Multi Immune Support combines the highest-quality, most bioavailable vitamins and minerals with herbal extracts, tonic mushrooms, bone broth, nutrient-dense liver from New Zealand cattle, wild fish roe and more. This breakthrough approach for nutritional and immune support features vitamins and minerals in body-friendly forms.
This formulation specifically includes a TCM Immune Blend featuring Andrographis, the “King of the Bitters.
Ancient Multi Immune Support offers vitamins A, C and D, along with zinc and selenium.
In native cultures, people consume nutrient-dense organ meats, fish roe and bone broth. But today, people aren’t consuming these superfoods. Ancient Multi Immune Support offers these ingredients.
How is Ancient Probiotics - Immune different than SBO Probiotic?
The main difference between this and SBO Probiotic is that SBO Probiotic features only soil based organism (SBO) strains, and this probiotic features mostly typical probiotic strains found in humans.
The strains in SBO populate differently in your gut than the typical probiotic strains found in humans in this probiotic, so this is an option for people looking for specific and diverse strains with added amplifying herbs.
SBO features a fermented botanical blend of prebiotics, this one does not. Ancient Probiotics feature Ayurvedic herbs to amplify the benefits, SBO does not contain these.
Ancient Probiotics Immune and SBO Probiotic both contain 50 billion CFUs* per serving. Ancient Probiotics feature time-release capsules, which means the contents dissolve slower and steadier in your body. This is especially beneficial for the diverse probiotics in this blend making it to your digestive tract where they are most important. SBO Probiotic, while featuring survivable strains, does not feature time-release capsules.
Do I need to refrigerate these probiotics?
You do not need to refrigerate these, although it may help them last longer because of the high amount of live cultures.
How is Ancient Probiotics - Immune different than the other probiotics in the Ancient Probiotics line?
The herbs in this probiotic were particularly selected to support immune system health.
Why is this zinc supplement different than many others on the market?
We carefully source an enzyme activated form of zinc for this supplement. An essential mineral that’s second only to iron in its concentration in the body, zinc is often referred to as the “intelligence mineral.” Functionally, the liver also needs zinc in sufficient amounts so it can mobilize and release stored vitamin A into the bloodstream. We also included a probiotic-fermented vitamin C to pair with the zinc. Found mostly in fruits and vegetables, this essential vitamin is known for its antioxidant properties and for its general benefits.
