Ancient Apothecary Eucalyptus Essential Oil

For topical, aromatherapy or dietary purposes.

Although it's grown all over the world, eucalyptus trees are native to Australia. For thousands of years, the Australian Aborigine people have praised this plant and used it as their go-to.

Hailing from the fresh leaves of the towering evergreen eucalyptus tree, eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus radiata) is a truly refreshing, exhilarating experience. Eucalyptus radiata essential oil is sometimes known as Black Peppermint Oil. It is steam-distilled from the leaves and twigs of this tall evergreen tree.

Although it shares the same properties as Eucalyptus globulusEucalyptus radiata has a less intense, milder aroma. Many aromatherapists believe that Eucalyptus radiata is the most desired form of eucalyptus because it has a more pleasant aroma—yet is colorless.

Even though eucalyptus essential oil possesses most of the properties of a typical volatile oil, it hasn’t always been extremely popular as an aromatherapy oil—mostly because little was known about it until the last few hundred years, compared to the more ancient aromatherapy essential oils. Since then, eucalyptus essential oil has captured the attention of the global population while also increasing interest in its use in aromatherapy and more.

Use of eucalyptus essential oil continues to grow in popularity, and it blends well with many other essential oils, including lavender essential oil, cedarwood essential oil, frankincense essential oil, as well as thyme, rosemary and marjoram essential oils.

Cautions: Possible skin sensitivity. Consult your physician before use, especially if pregnant, nursing, taking medication or if you have a medical condition. Avoid eyes, mucous membranes, and sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children.
